For the first time in his NFL career, Matthew Stafford is set to attend training with a team other than the Detroit Lions.
During the offseason, the Lions traded their franchise quarterback to the Los Angeles Rams for QB Jared Goff and a trio of draft picks, including a pair of first-round picks.
On Sunday, Stafford spoke to the media about going to a new team with a bunch of talent at this point in his career.
From The Detroit News:
“It’s a bunch of new experiences for me — where we’re playing, where I’m living, my teammates and coaching staff,” he said. “It’s definitely invigorating. It’s a challenge for me and something that I’m looking forward to.
“Not many people in my position get the chance to move to teams that have had a bunch of recent success, and I’m just excited to be a part of it.”
Though we with Matthew Stafford all of the best, let’s hope the Rams fall on their face this year so our Lions get a higher draft pick!
