Michigan’s Juwan Howard included in odds to become New York Knicks head coach

Juwan Howard is off to a hell of a start at Michigan but could he leave the maize and blue for a head coaching position in the NBA?

We HIGHLY doubt Howard is going anywhere, but according to BetOnline.ag, Howard (9-2) trails only Mark Jackson (5-1), Kenny Smith (6-1), and Ettore Messina (7-1) for the best odds to become the next head coach of the New York Knicks.

From Forbes:

Several current college coaches with NBA backgrounds are also getting strong odds, with Michigan coach Juwan Howard at 9/1, Vanderbilt coach Jerry Stackhouse at 14/1 and Villanova coach Jay Wright at 18/1. Wright has won two of the last four NCAA championships and has previously been linked to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Georgetown coach and former Knicks legend Patrick Ewing is at 22/1 while Jason Kidd, currently a Lakers assistant, is at 33/1.

Kentucky coach John Calipari has odds of 50/1 with former Louisville, Kentucky, Knicks and Celtics coach Rick Pitino also at 50/1.

For some real fun, Pat Riley and Phil Jackson are both at 100/1 with Charles Oakley, whom Knicks owner Jim Dolan had thrown out of Madison Square Garden, at 250/1.

Nation, can you see Howard leaving Michigan for the New York Knicks?
