On Thursday night, the Detroit Lions surprised quite a few people by selecting a center with the 20th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. That center is Frank Ragnow out of the University of Arkansas.
Below is an emotional video of Ragnow on the phone with the Lions as he finds out he is about to be selected with the 20th pick of the 1st Round.

Detroit Lions select C Frank Ragnow with the 20th pick in 2018 NFL Draft
With the 20th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Bob Quinn and the Detroit Lions selected Interior Offensive Lineman Frank Ragnow from Arkansas.
“Anybody hit their mock draft this year?”
That was the first thing Quinn said in his post-round press conference last night. For the vast majority of media members, analysts, and myself, the answer was no. Many thought the Lions would go with a pass rusher or maybe even running back. The ones who did think Quinn would take an offensive lineman had Will Hernandez, Isiah Wynn, or Billy Price on their board before Ragnow.
