Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has come under increased scrutiny and criticism for his actions during his team’s playoff series loss to the Phoenix Suns, which included leaving the court six minutes early in the Lakers’ Game 5 loss, as well as not shaking hands with his opponents following the series closeout.
However, the criticism isn’t sitting well with Orlando Magic rookie guard R.J. Hampton, who feels that the 4-time NBA champ is being slandered, and that past NBA superstars didn’t have to deal with that.
The loss against Phoenix was the 1st time in James’ career that he’d lost in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs. Of course, it wasn’t the smoothest of seasons for James, who dealt with injuries all throughout the 2020-21 campaign. That, and an injury to fellow star Anthony Davis did no favors for the Lakers’ repeat hopes, which officially ended earlier this week.
