Back on November 6, 2022, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff completed 14 of 26 passes for just 137 yards and two touchdowns to go along with one interception during a 15-9 win over the Green Bay Packers. Since throwing that interception, Goff has now played in nine consecutive games without throwing a pick. In fact, he is now within striking distance of breaking Aaron Rodgers‘ NFL record for most consecutive passes without throwing an interception.
When will Jared Goff break Aaron Rodgers’ NFL Record?
As it stands, Goff has not thrown 324 consecutive pass attempts without an interception, which just so happens to be the fifth-longest streak in NFL history. Rodgers holds the record for the longest streak with 404 consecutive passes without being picked off.
Some quick mental math tells us that Goff is just 80 pass attempts behind Rodgers’ record, which means that he could break the record early in the 2023 season if he can continue to take care of the football.
So, when will Goff break Rodgers’ NFL record?
During the 2022 season, Goff averaged 34.5 pass attempts per game, which means he is likely to break Rodgers’ record in the Lions’ third game of the season in 2023.
Nation, do you think Goff will break Rodgers’ record next season? If so, when do you think he will do it?
