According to reports, the Detroit Lions have fired offensive quality control coach Brian Picucci this week. Picucci is being replaced by Ben Johnson, formerly of the Miami Dolphins.

Ben Johnson enters his seventh season with the Dolphins and his first as wide receivers coach after he was promoted to the position on Jan. 19, 2018. He was named assistant wide receivers coach on Jan. 25, 2016.
Johnson originally joined the organization as the team’s offensive assistant on Feb. 10, 2012 and spent three seasons as the team’s assistant quarterbacks coach (2013-15). He was also the team’s tight ends coach for the final 12 games of the 2015 season.
In 2017, Johnson helped wide receiver Jarvis Landry earn Pro Bowl recognition for the third consecutive season and set a team record and lead the NFL with 112 receptions. Landry also caught a career-high nine touchdown passes. Kenny Stills totaled 847 receiving yards and six touchdowns and Jakeem Grant came on late in the season, totaling 10 receptions for 188 yards (18.8 avg.) in the final four weeks. His 18.8 receiving average during that span was fourth in the NFL.
