No doubt that fans and management of the Detroit Red Wings collectively held their breath on this one.
Lucas Raymond, whom the Red Wings selected with the 4th overall pick in this year’s NHL Draft, took a nasty face-first spill into the boards after missing a check on an opponent. He’s currently suiting up for Team Sweden in the 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
He was soon helped off the ice by the team training staff.

We certainly hope that he didn’t suffer any major ill effects from that nasty spill. Thankfully, that appears to be the case as he’s returned to action.
