UPDATE: Former Michigan FB/LB Wyatt Shallman transferring to Ohio

(02.08.17): Last month, former Michigan linebacker Wyatt Shallman announced he was going to leave the University of Michigan and pursue playing elsewhere in 2017 as a grad transfer. On Wednesday, Shallman announced that he will play his final year of college eligibility at Ohio University.

The fullback turned linebacker and former Detroit Catholic Central product played in six games this past season for the Wolverines, a total of 16 games for his 3+ seasons in Ann Arbor. He redshirted his true freshman year back in 2013, a former commit when Brady Hoke was still running the show.

(01.19.17): The Michigan Wolverines will be without the services of Wyatt Shallman next year.

Armed with an undergraduate degree from Michigan, Shallman will look to play out his final year of eligibility elsewhere. He played high school football at Detroit Catholic Central, where he was regarded as the No. 1 fullback for the Class of 2013 and a top-10 talent in the state of Michigan, according to 24/7Sports. Injuries plagued the former 4-star recruit, as Shallman was limited to just 11 games over his four seasons in Ann Arbor. He transitioned to the linebacker position for this past season.

Other graduate transfers from the Wolverines program this season include quarterback Shane Morris, who formally announced his decision to transfer earlier this month, and offensive lineman David Dawson, who announced earlier this week that he will be finishing his collegiate career at Iowa State next season.
