Here we go! The Big Ten Football conference schedule begins today when Nebraska and Northwestern square off in Ireland in a Big Ten West matchup.
With the first Big Ten game being played this afternoon (Illinois also hosts Wyoming in a non-conference matchup), I figured that now would be a good time to release my predicted order finish for the 2022 season.
Let’s start with the Big Ten West where I believe Wisconsin is the clear favorite with Iowa and Minnesota having the best shot to rise up and pass the Badgers.

BIG TEN WEST ORDER OF FINISH
Wisconsin 10-2, 7-2
Iowa 9-3, 6-3
Minnesota 8-4, 5-4
Purdue 7-5, 4-5
Nebraska 6-6, 3-6
Illinois 5-7, 2-7
Northwestern 5-7, 2-7
The game that will decide the Big Ten West winner: Wisconsin at Iowa on Nov. 12.
On to the Big Ten East, where it will once again come down to the biggest rivalry in college football.

Michigan 11-1, 8-1
Michigan State 9-3, 6-3
Penn State 8-4, 5-4
Maryland 7-5, 4-5
Rutgers 4-8, 2-7

Big Ten Championship Game winner:
With Wisconsin winning the Big Ten West and Ohio State taking care of business in the Big Ten East, the Badgers and Buckeyes will then meet for a second time this season in the Big Ten Championship Game.
Though it absolutely pains me to say it, Ohio State will not only be the cream of the crop in the Big Ten in 2022 but they have the talent to challenge Alabama and Georgia for the College Football Playoff National Champion.
The Buckeyes’ offense has so much firepower that it would be very surprising to me if Wisconsin can keep up. The Badgers may hang around for a while but it will be the Buckeyes who eventually pull away in the second half.
