Blake Griffin turns back the clock vs the Hawks Friday night

Detroit Pistons forward bounced back in a big way on Friday night, helping the team to a much-needed 128-103 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at Little Caesars Arena.

Griffin put up a game-high 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting, and according to coach Dwane Casey, it was the best he's looked all year since coming back from a leg injury.

“I thought it was the bounciest I’ve seen him since he’s come back,” Casey said. “He had juice, he had balance, defensively, offensively. I think when he saw the first three go down it really gave him a lot of confidence. Coming back where he’s come from is very difficult emotionally, physically, as much mentally as anything else because you’re not sure what you can do. I think tonight allowed him to show that.”

As for Griffin himself, he's feeling better and felt more like his old self.

“My rhythm is getting a little bit better,” he said. “I sort of feel like this is preseason for me a little bit, being my fourth game back and also having so much time between games, it’s a little easier to get rhythm playing longer stretches.”
