The Detroit Red Wings decided to take a chance on forward Bobby Ryan, signing him to a one-year contract after he was bought out by the Ottawa Senators.
And so far, his contract has been worth its weight in gold.
Ryan talled his fourth goal of this young season, giving the Red Wings the 2-1 lead over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Defenseman Jon Merrill‘s shot from the point deflected off a stick right to Ryan, who immediately put the puck on net. His shot deflected off defenseman Seth Jone’s stick and past a startled Elvis Merzļikins:
Bobby Ryan.
So Hot Right Now.

With his goal, Ryan became the first player to score four goals in his first three career games with the Red Wings.
Detroit Red Wings forward Bobby Ryan has extended his goal streak to 3 games, continuing his 50+ goal pace!

He’s now statistically on pace for 70 goals! Of course, while we don’t expect him to quite hit that mark, last season’s Bill Masteron Memorial Trophy winner is authoring a tremendous story so far in Hockeytown!
