Dan Campbell says Detroit Lions rookie WR Jameson Williams is ‘on it’

Williams is already asking to get some Jugs work in

With the No. 12 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions selected WR Jameson Wiliams out of Alabama.

When all is said and done, there is a chance that Williams will end up being the best wide receiver in his class but he is going to have to be patient as he recovers from a torn ACL.

After being selected by the Lions, Williams said that his hope was that he would be fully recovered in time for training camp.

“That’s what I’m shooting for,” Williams said.

That being said, you can bet the Lions will be extremely cautious with their speedy wide receiver and that there is a better chance that he misses regular-season games than there is of him fully practicing before the season begins.

Prior to Saturday’s rookie minicamp practice, Lions head coach Dan Campbell spoke to the media and he said that Williams has already asked about getting some work on the Jugs machine but that is not going to happen quite yet.

“He’s engaged. You put him out on the grass and that’s his domain. He’s asking questions, he’s got the script, he’s on it.”

Nation, how do you think the Lions should handle Williams? Would you be opposed to him missing a portion of the 2022 season to make sure he is 100%?
