If the Detroit Lions want even the smallest chance to run the table over their next three games, they will certainly need their best player, Matthew Stafford.
Stafford, who was injured on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers had X-rays performed after the game that reportedly came back negative.
Now, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, we have some additional details on the injury.
Fowler is reporting that Stafford suffered a rib cartilage injury, which just so happens to match up with what we passed along on Monday from the Pro Football Doc.
Fowler added that the Lions are not “overly optimistic” that Stafford will play this coming Sunday against the Tennessee Titans but they are leaving the window open because of his toughness.
Nation, should Stafford play against the Titans.
#Lions QB Matthew Stafford suffered a rib cartilage injury, per source. Team not overly optimistic he can play vs. the #Titans but are leaving open possibility since Stafford often toughs out injuries.
