Detroit Lions land their future QB, Bama wide receiver, and ‘Bubba’ in latest two-round 2022 mock draft

The 2021 NFL Draft is in the books and training camp is right around the corner for the Detroit Lions.

According to the experts, the Lions will end up with one of the worst records in the league in 2021, which means they will have a high draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

In a two-round mock draft recently put out by Luke Easterling of Draft Wire, the Lions land their future QB, an Alabama wide receiver, and a safety.

Easterling came up with the draft order by looking at the current Super Bowl odds, which is why he has the Lions with the No. 2 pick in both the first and second rounds. He also has the Lions with the No. 30 overall pick via the Los Angeles Rams.

Here is what Easterling has the Lions doing with those three picks.

No. 2 – QB Sam Howell (North Carolina)

No. 30 – WR John Metchie III (Alabama)

No. 34 – S Bubba Bolden (Miami)

Nation, would you be satisfied with these three picks?

  1. First off I have read where the Lions failed by not picking a QB in 2021 like Mills or Moon. What fricking joke ! First off no QB whether picked 1 thru 10 is for sure going to be anything but a bust, so why waste a 2nd or 3rd round pick on one when you have a former first overall pick. Now Goff had very good success at the start and he still has potential so let’s see if he can have more success in the Lions new regime before wasting a pick on a QB when they could trade that pick back a few and get more picks . Maybe another 2nd round pick and a lower first round pick and a 2023 1st rounder .
Many possibilities and Goff success or failure will determine what they should do! Again a QB needs a running game and that has held the lions back for years under Stafford. Every time Stafford had a running game the Lions were winning .
Let’s wait and see what happens with Swift and Williams, will they stay healthy enough to run the ball all year ?
I would prefer to get top defensive player and or WR with first round picks next year unless Goff just crashes.

    • I have seen mocks with them picking two Defensive Lineman, which I would be fine with too. Plus there will be an extra third-rounder for the loss of Golladay.
