Will Matthew Stafford be the Detroit Lions quarterback in 2021?
That is the big question the Lions’ new general manager will have to answer during the coming offseason but after what just happened against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I am wondering if we have already seen Stafford’s final play as a quarterback in Detroit.
During the first quarter on Saturday, Stafford rolled his ankle, causing him to be carted to the Lions locker room. He is currently listed as questionable to return to the game.
Stafford cannot put any weight on his right foot, actually hops to the tunnel entrance just behind the Lions bench. Chase Daniel will be in for this next drive.

Heading into the game, Stafford was already dealing with an injured thumb and partially torn cartilage in his ribs. Those injuries, coupled with today’s ankle injury, along with the fact that the Lions are already eliminated from playoff contention, have me wondering if we have seen the last of Stafford in the Honolulu blue and silver.
Nation, if you were the Lions, would you shut down Stafford for the remainder of the season? Or, should he be allowed to give it a go if he wants to?
He should have been shut down weeks ago.
