If you have been following us over the past few years or so, you know we like to post stories about Kelly Stafford has to say on Instagram.
99% of the time, those stories have to do with football but every now and again, Kelly, who is the wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, posts something controversial and our readers seem to eat it up.
In fact, ever since we started posting things that Kelly has to say, other local media outlets have followed suit, which is pretty funny considering some used to rip us for posting things that wives or girlfriends of local athletes have to say.
Just the other day, Kelly took to Instagram to share her feelings about living in Michigan during COVID-19. Kelly, in a video message, compared it to living in a “dictatorship.”
Well, it did not take long at all for the comments to roll in and for Kelly to post another video “apologizing” for her original video. She even posted a written message on her Instagram account, apologizing for her use of words.
Now, for those of you who follow Kelly on Instagram (we have to because it is our job), you are well aware of the fact that there is rarely an hour that goes by when she does not post something to her page or to her Instagram Story.
That being said, Kelly has gotten extremely quiet since her apology. In fact, since her apology on Friday, she has not posted a single thing!
Now, I am not married and certainly am not an NFL quarterback who stays off social media, but I would imagine that whenever Kelly posts something controversial on her Instagram account and local outlets write a story about it, Matthew catches wind and brings it up over a glass of wine.
But maybe this time, Matthew Stafford FINALLY had enough of Kelly posting controversial things for the world to see and told her to cut it out. Or, maybe Kelly decided to take a little break from Instagram for a while.
We will probably never really know why Kelly has gone silent on Instagram, but when your controversial comments start making the national news like CNN, it may be time to cut back a bit.
That being said, Kelly is a citizen of the United States of America and she has the freedom to post whatever she wants to. And to be honest, we (and other local outlets) strongly encourage that she continues to do so because posting stories like this one about Kelly NOT posting on Instagram won’t cut it!
