BRADY HOKE – Former Defensive Coordinator, Oregon; Former Head Coach, Michigan
This pick will leave many Maize and Blue fans cringing, but hear us out. Mr. ‘No Headset' did an admirable job at Ball State and San Diego State before he leaped to Ann Arbor. The 2008 Ball State Cardinals (12-2 record overall) and the 2010 San Diego State Aztecs (9-4 overall) were clear examples of why Brady Hoke was hired by Michigan in the first place.
There is a clear possibility the stage was simply too large for Hoke despite him being a decent football mind in the proper environment. With the firing of Mark Helfrich, Hoke is again unemployed and could go back to a state he is now very familiar with.
Not to mention, Hoke proved his recruiting acumen. He landed many talented players, including Jabrill Peppers, for the Maize and Blue. Western Michigan doesn't seem like too much for Hoke to handle and a return to the Group of Five could do him some good.
