The Detroit Red Wings got a head start on NHL Trade Deadline day, sending defenseman Mike Green to the Edmonton Oilers (ran by former GM Ken Holland) in exchange for a conditional draft pick and the contract of forward Kyle Brodziak.

Green took to social media today to thank the Red Wings and their fans for his time in the Motor City:
