According to reports, the Detroit Lions and Matthew Stafford will part ways after a 12-year marriage.
Multiple reports are suggesting the Lions will be accepting trade offers as early as this week as they try to honor his request of a fresh start with another NFL team.
But, for those of you who are heartbroken about Stafford leaving the Lions, this may give you the slightest amount of hope that he actually sticks around.
According to a league source, Stafford spoke to Lions GM Brad Holmes and HC Dan Campbell and they all agreed to the idea of a trade IF they receive “fair market value.
Per league Source: Stafford approached the team with idea of being traded.
GM/coaching candidates were informed of the possibility during interview process.

But what if the Lions do not get what they think is “fair market value” for Stafford?
Well, if that ends up being the case, Stafford could end up being the Lions’ quarterback in 2021 after all.
That being said, expect for at least a handful of teams to put in decent offers to try and get Stafford to their team.
