Lions QB Matthew Stafford Nominated for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award

Last week, Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford missed a key game against the Chicago Bears, which snapped 136 consecutive regular-season starts. Stafford is one of the toughest guys in the NFL right now, and prior to his injury, only Phillip Rivers was beating him out for the longest active regular-season starts among active quarterbacks.

Today, we learned that Stafford has been nominated for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.

The Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award is an award that recognizes sportsmanship on the field. The voting is done by the current NFL players. The winner of the award will be announced on February 1st during the NFL Honors show, one day before the Super Bowl.
