DETROIT MERCY TITANS
LAST TWO WEEKS:Â W vs. YSU, 87-71; L @ WRST, 106-88; L @ NOKY, 101-87; L vs. MILW, 73-69 (OT); W vs. GB, 93-92
OVERALL RECORD: 5-17, 3-7 Horizon
So it’s still relatively tough sledding for Detroit and Bacari Alexander but they are playing improved ball a little bit at a time. The win over Youngstown State to start this recent two-week stretch marked the first time they had won consecutive games this season, coming off that upset win at Oakland.
The defense was a struggle on the road against quality Horizon teams in Wright State and Northern Kentucky. But they ended the stretch on a high note with another solid victory, beating Green Bay at home. That’s now a 3-3 record overall since starting the season 2-14. Alexander is still trying to find the right mesh of guys as evident by the inconsistencies in playing time and production on the floor. But there are indeed some bright spots to be taken away.
Keeping up their improved play will definitely be a challenge over the next couple week for Detroit:
