Report: Lions and Broncos discussed swapping Darius Slay, Chris Harris Jr.

The Detroit Lions and cornerback Darius Slay could have parted ways at this year’s NFL Trade Deadline, but a potential deal fell through because they felt they wouldn’t have received enough in return.

Ahead of Detroit’s matchup this afternoon against the Denver Broncos, Slay and fellow cornerback Chris Harris Jr. could have been suited up opposite each other with the opposite uniforms.

Slay is a free-agent at the end of next season, and he’s on record as saying he “wouldn’t mind” finishing his career as a Lion.

If Slay ultimately departs the Motor City, will we look back at that potential deal that fell through as a mistake?
