WATCH: Miggy goes BOOM to celebrate his birthday

Today, Miguel Cabrera turns 34-years-old. And, down in Tampa Bay, it didn’t take long for him to start celebrating. After two quick outs by the Tigers lead off and two hitters, Ian Kinsler and Nick Castellanos, Miggy turned a Matt Andriese fastball around, 450 feet to dead center field, in one of the loudest home runs you will ever witness. Seriously, it was L-O-U-D; watch and find out for yourself.

The home run comes on the heels of a series where Cabrera began to heat up against the Cleveland Indians. In the series, Miguel went 5-9 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs. It was a welcomed sight for Tigers fans, as Miggy had gotten off to a non-Miggy-like-start to the season, going 4-30 in the previous series, against the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins. The home run tied Miggy with Hall of Famer, Jeff Bagwell, and future Hall member Vlad Guerrero, for 38th all-time with 449 home runs.  Next on the list, no. 37, Carl Yastrzemski, with 452.

Another anecdote to the home run is this: the Tigers have now homered in 13 straight games to start the season, tying them with the 1952 Cubs, and putting the one game short of the 2002 Cleveland Indians, who went deep in 14 straight to begin the season. The Tigers lineup is no stranger to the long ball, as we have been treated to a few over the years.

There is no doubt that through his career, Miguel Cabrera, has been one of the best hitting Tigers that any of us have ever seen. We have been given the wonderful opportunity to watch him display his beautiful swing on a daily basis. Now, on his birthday, we got to see it one more time! Happy Birthday, Miguel, hope you enjoyed it! I know we did!
