BREAKING: Red Wings trade F Tomas Jurco to Blackhawks

The Detroit Red Wings have traded forward Tomas Jurco to the Chicago Blackhawks. In return for Jurco, the Wings receive a 3rd round pick from Chicago in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Jurco has barely seen the ice this season, as he’s been a healthy scratch on most nights.

He’s played only 16 games and has 0 goals and 0 assists and is a -8.

Jurco has 15 goals and 24 assists in his 159 game NHL career. The move has to be considered a win for Ken Holland and his staff, who knew they were going to lose Jurco this summer anyways. However, if Jurco can produce in Chicago, the critics will be out in full force on the way Holland and coach Jeff Blashill chose to use him.
