The Detroit Lions announced Saturday that rookie offensive tackle Giovanni Manu (knee) was not activated from Reserve/Injured and has officially been downgraded to OUT for Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Chicago Bears.

With Penei Sewell already ruled out earlier in the week, the Lions will likely lean on veteran Dan Skipper to step in as the starting right tackle at Soldier Field. Skipper has filled in at multiple spots across Detroit’s offensive line over the past few seasons and remains one of the team’s most trusted depth linemen.
Detroit will also have Kayode Awosika available as an emergency third offensive tackle if needed, giving the Lions some added insurance up front.

It’s another tough injury blow for an offensive line that has battled attrition all season, but Detroit will try to patch things together one more time as they close out Week 18 in Chicago.
