A little bit of information is coming forth about the Detroit Lions‘ rookie linebacker Kyle Van Noy’s injury. The symptoms seem to be consistent with that of a sports hernia. However, Van Noy himself is not entirely sure where he is injured. It is a confusing process for a young kid, and the Lions surely hope that he can get back on the field soon. If it is a sports hernia is bad enough, it will require surgery. A sports hernia can be a very difficult recovery.
Van Noy said hes scheduled to undergo further evaluation to determine the extent of his injury in the coming days, but on Saturday he described symptoms often associated with a hernia.
“I cant say where (it hurts) exactly because it moves, Van Noy said. So I cant say one specific area, so Im trying to understand more about the process.”

As with any rookie having an injury, the most important thing that the Detroit Lions can do is get Kyle Van Noy healthy. If he has to sit out the 2014 season, that should not be a problem. The Lions have Tahir Whitehead ready to go at outside linebacker, and Van Noy should not try to rush his recovery.
