According to the Detroit Lions, the team has signed a pair of veteran players, wide receiver Greg Salas and cornerback Chris Owens.
Both players were signed to one-year deals and will have an opportunity to compete for a spot on the final 53-man roster.
Salas, who is 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, spent the 2014 season with the New York Jets where he had eight catches for 167 yards. Salas will have his work cut out for him if he wants to make the team.
Owens has spent seven seasons in the NFL, his most recent being with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014, where he played in 11 games and had 33 tackles. Owens will also have an uphill battle to make the final roster for the Lions.
Both of these signings come a day after the Lions signed veteran wide receiver Lance Moore.
