“The Ford family and Detroit Lions upper management do not care about winning.”
That is a statement that I have literally heard thousands of times over the years and I think it’s a load of garbage. The Ford family and Lions management want nothing more than to bring a Super Bowl to the city of Detroit and anyone who says differently is being dishonest to themselves.
That being said, Lions team president Rod Wood spoke at the annual Detroit Economic Club luncheon on Monday and he explained his goals for the 2020 season. Interestingly enough, winning football games was not mentioned as one of his goals.
“I have 3 goals for the year, that everyone stays healthy, to play football and manage the pandemic from a business standpoint to get back to normal in 2021,” Wood said.
Now, to be fair, as Wood noted, this has been an extremely challenging year for everyone and I am 100% confident that he too wants the Lions to win big in 2020.
