The first quarter of the Lions 2019 campaign looks to be their most challenging of the season. After opening on the road against the Cardinals, the Lions will square off against the Chargers, Eagles, and Kansas City Chiefs in Weeks 2-4.

Week 1 – @Arizona Cardinals

Will Kyler Murray turn out to be a great NFL quarterback? Only time will tell, but his career will not get off to a very good start against an extremely solid Lions’ defensive line.

Lions 27 Cardinals 13

Week 2 – vs. Los Angeles Chargers

It’s looking like the Chargers will be without their star running back Melvin Gordon but overall, their firepower will be too much for the Lions to handle.

Chargers 27 Lions 20

Week 3 – @Philadelpia Eagles

The Eagles are one of the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl and they will flex their muscles at home against Matthew Stafford and the Lions.

Eagles 26 Lions 17

Week 4 – vs. Kansas City Chiefs

I do not expect to Patrick Mahomes to do what he did a year ago but you can bet the Chiefs offense will be one of the best in the NFL once again. Can the Lions offense keep up at home? I doubt it.

Chiefs 31 Lions 27
