Red Wings re-sign defenseman Brian Lashoff to one-year deal

The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed defenseman Brian Lashoff to a one-year deal.

Lashoff has seen his share of time in both the NHL and the AHL, though he spent all of last season with the Grand Rapids Griffins. He recorded a career-best 15 assists in 74 games with the Griffins. Lately acting more as a guy who will get called up when a defenseman on the NHL roster goes down, he can produce and be a reliable body on the ice when called upon. Paired mostly with fellow defenseman Xavier Ouellet for a good majority of the season, the two acted as the Griffins’ top defensive pairing in 2015-2016.

Expect to see Lashoff remain in Grand Rapids once next season comes around.
