Spencer Torkelson talks hockey, plans to see Red Wings game (VIDEO)

The Detroit Tigers got their man yesterday, drafting Arizona State phenom Spencer Torkelson with the first overall selection in the 2020 MLB Draft.

But just because he’s known for baseball doesn’t mean that he isn’t into other sports! Torkelson is coming to the Motor City, where there is a rich tradition of hockey with the Detroit Red Wings.

“I love hockey,” he explained. “I think I played five or six years growing up, and it’s such a great sport, so much fun to watch.”

And don’t be surprised to see him make an appearance at Little Caesars Arena at some point in the future to take in a Red Wings game!

“Hopefully I’ll catch a couple of Red Wings games, maybe even get on the ice. That’d be awesome,” he said.

We sure hope to see Torkelson at Little Caesars Arena in the near future!
