Tigers activate James McCann from DL; trade C Bobby Wilson to Texas for P Chad Bell

Sharing is caring!

There were some roster moves made on Tuesday prior to the Tigers’ three-game series in Cleveland.

First off, they get their starting catcher back from the disabled list.

McCann was sidelined with an ankle injury he injured running down the first base line in a April 11 game at home vs the Pirates. Backup catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia assumed the everyday duties and the team promoted Bobby Wilson to back up ‘Salty’.

And speaking of Wilson…

Wilson was acquired from the Rangers along with minor league pitcher Myles Jaye prior to the season in exchange for former Tiger catcher Bryan Holaday. Wilson played in five games, going 2-for-13 at the dish.
