10 Things every Michigan sports fan needs to do before they die:

5. Attend a Detroit Lions game on Thanksgiving Day

Among the oldest traditions in football is playing on Thanksgiving Day. In Detroit, the Lions have played on Thanksgiving every year since 1945. The game is a nationally televised event and there always seems to be extra energy in the stadium on Thanksgiving. All-time, the Lions are 35-38-2 on Thanksgiving. Football and turkey go hand in hand, and in the Motor City, so do the Lions and Thanksgiving. No matter how good or bad they are, make sure you see a Lions Thanksgiving Day Game at least once.
