With the 8th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select…

It has been quite the offseason so far for a Detroit Lions team that finished 6-10 this past season. They have been active in free agency, landing Trey Flowers, Justin Coleman, Danny Amendola, and Jesse James and it is clear that Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia are focused on winning immediately.

That being said, the Lions still have plenty of weaknesses and though they could add a couple more pieces in free agency, the upcoming NFL Draft is going to be ultra-important to their success in 2019.

Without further ado, with the 8th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select…

If you have followed along with my articles and tweets (thank you), you realize how much I have loved Ed Oliver for a LONG time.

I have said along that I believe Oliver will be a perennial Pro Bowl player if he is put in the right situation and that situation is playing on the Detroit Lions defensive line under the tutelage defensive guru and current Lions head coach, Matt Patricia.

Oliver recently held his pro day and his measurables/numbers absolutely blew everyone away, which means he is now that talk of the town for everybody.

Not only did Oliver run a 40-yard dash which was clocked in the range of 4.71 to 4.73 seconds but he ran a faster 20-yard shuttle (clocked in the range of 4.19-4.22) than New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (4.24) did a year ago!

Ed Oliver is an athletic freak who is going to be an elite defensive lineman at the NFL level for a long time.

The only problem is, now that he has blown everyone out of the water, will he still be available when the Lions are on the clock with the 8th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft?

I sure as hell hope he is!

Also, he posted this on Twitter so how can he not be No. 1 on my board?
