POST-GAME NOTES

LIONS RUSH DEFENSE

  • By limiting Arizona to 46 rushing yards, the Lions defense has now allowed just 688 yards on the ground this season through 10 games, which is the lowest total by the club in the first 10 game of a season since at least 1940.
  • The Lions have allowed just 68.8 rushing yards per game this season, which is on pace to set the team’s all-time single season record for opponent rush yards per game (82.3 yds/g in 1970).

STAFFORD REACHES 20,000 YARDS IN 71 CAREER GAMES

  • On QB Matthew Stafford’s 30-yard completion to WR Golden Tate in the second quarter at Arizona (11/16), he surpassed 20,000 career passing yards. By reaching 20,000 career passing yards in his 71st career game, he set a new NFL record reaching that mark in the fewest career games. (Courtesy Elias Sports Bureau). He broke the previous record set by Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino who accomplished this feat in 74 career games.
  • Only two other players besides Stafford (71) and Marino (74) have reached 20,000 career yards in fewer than 80 games, including QB Kurt Warner (76) and QB Peyton Manning (78).

RB JOIQUE BELL

  • RB Joique Bell’s 33-yard rush in the first quarter at Arizona (11/16) was the second-longest rush of his career, behind only his 67-yard rush vs. Indianapolis December 2, 2012.
  • Bell’s 33-yard rush was also the team’s longest rush of the season and longest since RB Reggie Bush’s 39-yard run vs. Tampa Bay November 24, 2013.
  • Bell registered a 21-yard reception at Arizona, marking the first time in his career that he has registered a 20+-yard rush and a 20+-yard reception in a game during his career.
  • He recorded rushes of 33 and 21 yards against the Cardinals, marking the second time in his career he has registered two 20+-yard rushing attempts in his career (26, 22t vs. Houston 11/22/12).

WR GOLDEN TATE

  • With 68 receptions through 10 games, WR Golden Tate has registered the third-most receptions by a Lions receiver through the first 10 games of the season. His 68 catches through 10 games are behind only WR Herman Moore’s 73 catches in 1995 and 71 catches in 1997.

LB DEANDRE LEVY
LB DeAndre Levy registered 10 tackles (8 solo) at Arizona (11/16) to mark his seventh game this season with 10+ tackles. He is now tied with Buccaneers LB Lavonte David for the most 10+-tackle games this season with seven.

LB JOSH BYNES

  • LB Josh Bynes registered his first career interception at Arizona (11/16) to stop a Cardinals drive deep in Lions territory in the second quarter. He intercepted the pass at the Lions 5-yard line and returned it 17 yards.

CB CASSIUS VAUGHN

  • CB Cassius Vaughn registered his second interception of the season with a pick at the two-minute warning in the first half at Arizona. He returned the pick 25 yards to the Cardinals 19-yard line to set up a Lions field goal.
  • This is the second time in Vaughn’s career that he has registered 2+ interceptions in a season. His career high is three interceptions last year while with Indianapolis.

LB KYLE VAN NOY

  • Rookie LB Kyle Van Noy, playing in his second career game, dropped the Cardinals for a 7-yard loss in the third quarter and registered his first career tackle for loss (TFL).
