Following the Detroit Lions 37-35 loss to the Minnesota Vikings to wrap up the 2020 regular season for both teams, plenty of fans and media members made sure to hop on Twitter to share their thoughts about what should happen with Matthew Stafford.
One of those media members was former Lions quarterback, Dan Orlovsky, who made it clear that the Lions should allow Stafford to leave for greener pastures.
Today should be the final game for Matthew Stafford in a @Lions uniform. He goes down as one of the franchises best players, & certainly one that represented the city of Detroit & its people as well as anyone. He needs a new home-let him leave…The Lions need a full reboot.

While speaking to the media after the loss, Stafford was asked about Orlovsky’s tweet and Stafford said not to pay attention to it.
“Everybody has a right to their opinion,” Stafford said. “I know Dan well, he’s a good friend of mine, but to me, don’t pay too much attention to it.”
Nation, what do you think? Will Stafford be with the Lions again for the 2021 season?
Just gonna say, when a good friend or family says something they werent supposed to, this is the line we get.
And if its true, I wish Stafford the best of luck. He does not deserve to have to rebuild for the forth time in his career. We should had done a better job after 2011 getting quality players and drafting better.
I do not want to lose our Quarterback, I would rather have him then more that half the leagues starting QBs, and the persona he has created in Detroit is being a no quitter. Im afraid his loyalty to the team and city will prevent him from objectively weighing his options.
Im just here to say, I hope he follows his heart, regardless where it leads. He deserves what is best for him. I could never say that at any time he didnt try his best and put everything on the line. He payed his dues, he doesnt owe this organization anything more, unless that is HIS desire to do so. And whatever team he goes to, will be my new second favorite team.
