Tigers trade INF Jefry Marte to Angels

The Detroit Tigers have sent INF Jefry Marte to the Los Angeles Angels this afternoon in exchange for INF Kody Eaves.

The move comes on the heels of the team placing Marte on waivers to make room on the 40-man roster after the signing of Justin Upton last week.

In 33 games for the Tigers last season, Marte hit .213 with 4 HR and 11 RBI.

Last season, Eaves played A+ ball for the Angels minor league affiliate Inland Empre 66ers. He hit .248 with 11 HR and 71 RBI in 136 games last seaon.
