Yes, I know what you are thinking. “Really? Matthew Stafford at number one?” Well you see, without Stafford, the Lions wouldn’t even be contenders to get into the playoffs. Drafted with the number one overall pick in 2009 out of Georgia, Stafford was happy to be in Detroit. Mayhew could have drafted Mark Sanchez people, just think about that. Stafford is one of only four quarterbacks to throw for over 5,000 yards in a season. He has over 130 career touchdowns and over 20,000 career passing yards in only six seasons. He hasn’t even played six full seasons yet either. For all you Stafford haters out there, chill. Mayhew knew it was the right decision to draft him, and it will pay off.
