Well this one was a heartbreaker. The Detroit Red Wings dominated much of the play between the 10:00 mark of the first period and the 10:00 mark of the 3rd period. Gustav Nyquist netted his first goal of the playoffs, and his first in far, far too long. And Joakim Andersson potted a goal on a very strange bounce off of Ben Bishop’s stick, which gave Detroit a 2-0 lead.
But with less than 5:00 left in the third period, the Tampa Bay Lightning would get two goals past Petr Mrazek in the span of just over a minute to send the game into overtime. They then netted the game winner early in the OT period on a very broken play by Detroit, taking the game 3-2. They’ll have to pick up the pieces and take another on the road from the best home-team in the playoffs this season. GO WINGS!
