Villanova ‘Piccolo Girl’ gets sweet redemption one year later

Everyone remembers the saddest example of March Madness chaos. Roxanne Chalifoux was receiving all of the cyber sympathy and virtual hugs of basketball fans after a tragic reel was shown when her top-seed Villanova Wildcats lost in the round of 32 to 8-seed NC State 71-68 in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

Here is a reminder of what true disappointment (and some praise-worthy commitment) looks like:

So sad… But also, very impressive by this young lady to keep playing under such emotional duress as well. After all of the Internet attention and even an appearance with The Roots on The Tonight Show, Ms. Chalifoux finally got her smile back.

This is all around a good story and adds to the magic that Kris Jenkins gave to any fan of the Wildcats.

Oh, and here’s Jenkins’ shot again. You know… Just in case, you forgot.
