Baylor University has dealt with it’s fair share of tragedy recently. This past Thursday night Baylor sophomore David Grotberg was killed in a hit and run accident. Grotberg was 19 years old, a trumpet player in the Golden Wave Band, president of the Campus Ballroom Dance Society, and part of the Honors Program at Baylor.
Baylor football had a bye this week, but fellow Big 12 conference members Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma University, and University of Texas decided to take the opportunity to honor the life of the young man.

In another example of the college football world coming together in support of each other, the Cowboy Marching Band trumpet section wore green and gold bandanas in the stands during their game this weekend.

The full band, under the direction of Doug Henderson, also took time to perform the Baylor Alma Mater during a rehearsal. The video below was posted to the OSU Band Facebook page. This is in stark contrast to the choices that were made by the Rice marching band in the season opener this year.
