Michigan State became a serious College Football Playoff contender with their 17-14 win on the road against #3 Ohio State on Saturday evening, and now the entire nation knows it.
According to ESPN, the Spartan’s victory at Ohio Stadium drew a 7.0 overnight rating, which makes it the most watched College Football game of the 2015 season.
It’s also the highest rated 3:30pm game on ABC since Michigan – Ohio State back in 2006. This year’s Michigan – Penn State game was the highest rated Noon game of the year, drawing a 4.1 rating.
Michigan State’s resume improved big time with the win. MSU now has wins over ranked teams such as Oregon, Michigan, and Ohio State. They also have a win against Air Force, who is just outside the Top 25. The latest College Football Playoff rankings come out on Tuesday.
