The Red Wings finished the regular season with the second ranked power play percentage in the entire league, only behind the Washington Capitals. As far as actual power play goals scored, the Red Wings were number one in the league with 7o, ten more than the next team (Washington).

The Wings were also able to draw more penalties than any other team in the league. Continuing that trend in the playoffs will be very important if the Red Wings want to win it all.

If Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Justin Abdelkader, Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist are able to continue their power play dominance, the Red Wings will make a real run in the playoffs.
