The stars perfectly aligned for Benton Harbor native Wilson Chandler Friday night, at least in terms of asserting himself as the dominant on-court Chandler for at least one possession.
With his Denver Nuggets trailing 17-4 early, Chandler received a swing pass in the corner from teammate Ty Lawson. A corner triple threat, Wilson drew an aggressive closeout from the Dallas Mavericks’ Chandler Parsons. As Parsons bit on a convincing pumpfake, Chandler quickly seized upon the resulting open lane to the paint.
As Chandler blew past Parsons, it was Mavericks paint protector Tyson Chandler who’d supply the final challenge to Chandler. In one single fluid motion, (Wilson) Chandler elevated, met (Tyson) Chandler in mid-air and delivered a brutal one-handed poster finish.
That’s right folks, Friday night gave us what may have been the NBA’s first and only case of Chandler on Chandler on Chandler crime.
Wilson finished with 10 points on the evening.
