Wings send Kindl to Grand Rapids for conditioning stint

The Detroit Red Wings have sent defenseman Jakub Kindl to the American Hockey League, where he will join the Grand Rapids Griffins for a conditioning stint.

Kindl hasn’t played since December 27th, as he’s been dealing with an elbow injury. He’s no doubt out of game shape, and will likely spend the better part of the next week with the Griffins.

Grand Rapids hosts San Antonio tonight in GR, but Kindl isn’t expected to play until the team is on the road Sunday against the Chicago Wolves. The Griffins play 4 of the next 5 games at home.
