Tigers, Scherzer Agree To Deal

The Tigers formally announce that the club has reached an agreement with P Max Scherzer for this coming season. The two sides were heading towards arbitration, but this deal avoids that.

The deal is for 1 year in length and $6.725 million dollars. Scherzer was originally asking for $7.4M. Dave Dombrowski has never actually gone to arbitration as GM of the Tigers.

Spring training starts in a week, with pitchers and catchers heading to Lakeland a week from today.
