The curtain has come down on another college football season, ending with something we have seen four times in the last seven seasons – the University of Alabama claiming the title of national champions.
They defeated the then-undefeated Clemson Tigers on Monday night 45-40 in what was without a doubt one of the more entertaining national championship games in college football history, certainly in recent years. For head coach Nick Saban, he earned his fifth championship ring as a head coach, now just one behind former legendary Alabama head coach Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant.
It’d be hard to argue that Alabama football with Nick Saban at the helm right now is not in the midst of a dynasty right now. The best form of validation for any sports franchise to be called a dynasty is championships and Alabama has captured four of them. It helps that they have become a factory for producing NFL-ready talent every year, which speaks to the ability of Saban and his staff to recruit and develop.
