The Solheim Cup is off to a roaring start. With the stadium grandstands surrounding the first tee, the players are under intense pressure to hit a quality shot. Lexi Thompson got things started off right for Team USA with a huge opening tee ball. Thompson drove the green on the par-4 No. 1 with a 285 yard 3-wood. Her partner Cristie Kerr would sink the eagle putt to take a 1-up lead in Match One.
Thompson was in the news earlier this season when she was assigned a penalty retroactively by the LPGA at the ANA Inspiration.
