Video: Teemu Pulkkinen Nets His 1st Career NHL Goal

We had all heard the rumors of The Shot. We just couldn't really put it into perspective until we saw it firsthand.

Teemu Pulkkinen got the Detroit Red Wings' offense off to a start on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild. Roughly halfway through the first period, Stephen Weiss brought the puck through the neutral zone and into the Wild's zone. He feathered a pass back and into the slot right to Pulkkinen. He let off a one-time slap shot that sounded like a firecracker when he hit the puck, and it found its way into the net for the Red Wings' first of the night, and Pulkkinen's first of his career. Let us hope this is the first of many, many more for the right-handed rocket.
