Former LSU head coach Les Miles
This selection is quite simply too obvious. The ties that Miles has with the University of Michigan have prompted speculation as far back as 2007 when Miles was at his peak with LSU. Strategically, the mad hatter has always had a very similar style to what the University of Michigan is known for; a pro-style offense and hard-nosed, gritty defenses. His skill in recruiting has been proven time and again while in Baton Rouge and his penchant for the dramatic fits with what foundation Jim Harbaugh has already laid.
The primary concern with this hire boils down to not only its predictability but also in the current draw of Miles. His well-documented ousting of LSU raises some alarms regarding his true prowess as the leader of a program. While much of the severe reaction can be tied to a fervent fanbase, one can’t help but question the lack of results in the final years for Miles despite a drastic talent advantage.
